I took this shot on one of my earlier trips to the Lost Coast, circa 1990. Since then, this view and the creek have changed a lot. Many of the alders have fallen, ruining the tunnel effect. But worse, Low Gap Creek used to have a lovely hiking trail near it. The trail was destroyed as part of a "salmon restoration" project. Now, if someone could explain how felling a bunch of trees across a hiking trail helps salmon...
